| The European Construction
Products Directive (89-106-EC) stipulates that in order
to be sold on the market, construction products must satisfy
"essential requirements". The applicable standards
specify the nature of these requirements for each product.
The systems of attestation of conformity differs from
one product to the next. For a number of products, it
has been anticipated that a third-party organisation would
conduct industrial production system inspections, with
these organisations needing to be "notified"
by State authorities.
LCPC is a notified body to perform such inspections
in the field of aggregates.
